With the amazing coaching that the Padres had, when they made the switch to coach pitch in the middle of the season, they were ready. I was so proud of this little team at each game. They worked hard and had fun! Go Padres!!!

Can you get over how cute the girls on this team are?!

One of my favorite parts of each game was the little league pledge before the game.

Little League day at the Padres game! Brooks was 2 people away from meeting Trevor Hoffman before Trevor stopped signing autographs.

At this game, when the coach was talking about the player who earned the game ball, he was describing someone that is always smiling and laughing, always ready to work hard, always ready to run and ALWAYS ready to have fun! Brooks knew he was talking about him.

He described this ball player and little boy perfectly!

At sponsor day, it was time to dunk the coach!

Ha!

Brooks had the BEST families and coaches on his team this year! It was the perfect experience for a first time!

C was such a crack up!

B was super excited for the opportunity to be catcher!

A t-ball post? I know … t-ball was over in early June, but I never posted about the fun we had with Brooks’ first season.

So, before we start up with soccer next week, I need to get out the t-ball posts.

His first at bat …

He did it!

I know this may be old news to many of my photog friends, but I used autoloader (for the first time) for these and I can not believe HOW FAST AUTOLOADER is.

Amazing!

How do I even start to explain how much I adore this family?! Little L was one of the first graders in my class last year and his fabulous mom was one of my best room parents! I loved the days when she volunteered so we could also catch up on news and laugh. She has a heart of gold and so does the rest of her family. I can’t wait until Miss N is in first grade. xoxo

I loved spending a quiet San Diego evening with this little guy. His hair… adorable. His eyes… gorgeous. His smile and that tongue … oh, so sweet!

In honor of Memorial Day, a time when we celebrate those who protect us and fight for our freedom, here is the wonderful Sartain family.

I met this beautiful family last December for a mini session that was a surprise for dad when he was deployed. He’s now back home in San Diego! Hooray!!! Dad had just a couple weeks of time off before he was back to active duty so we squeezed in a family session at the gorgeous Balboa Park. This was the perfect place for the curious and fast 2 year old, mr. G and for the sweetest little 9 month old, mr. B. I was also happy to have grandma with us and see the beautiful connection she has with these two very special little boys.

Thank you O and G for allowing me to spend the morning with you! I loved every minute!!!

Sweet baby Max was just 8 days new when we did his newborn session. He was a total dream to photograph! He had his eyes open for just a short while before he slept for the rest of the morning. His mom and I would just sit and admire him as he slept, and then remember we needed to get some photographs too. Thanks to sweet sister Lucy for testing out the set up … loved sharing stories and songs with her. Here is baby Max in all of his newborn goodness.

Last week Brooks and I snuck off for one last day of fun at Disneyland before the heat and crowds of summer took over. Once again I surprised him with the trip. We were half way there before he figured out we weren’t going to school. The expression on his face was priceless when he heard where we were going. We had the perfect day with little to no lines at all of our favorite rides! It really is ‘the happiest place on earth’!

Today Brooks’ team got to play on the ‘big boy’ field … the one right next to the snack shack. We have managed to avoid it for the whole season. Just minutes into warm ups, he came running up to me “mommy, look! it’s a snack shacky”.

I’ll be preparing a couple of posts to highlight our fun season… but for now, here’s Brooks’ first trip to the snack shack!

Before we left Santa Barbara during spring break, we spent a perfect evening celebrating Carter’s birthday. Millie, my parents’ new puppy got to join us for the party. She is just 3 months old here … we can’t wait until we see her again this summer.

On a different note … today we are celebrating Brooks’ half birthday! He’s 5 1/2!! How did that happen?!

Carter wanted to make lemonade for his birthday drink so the kiddos went out back to pick some lemons. It was delicious!!! There’s nothing like homemade lemonade. :)
