This week’s theme for fifty-two on Friday is fruit! From San Diego to across the United States … 19 other child and family photographers from The Bloom Forum and I have joined together to challenge each other on a theme every week. Each one of us will link to one other photographer’s unique vision. Some of my favorite themes … b&w, shoes, love, fashion, alone, game, eyes, friendship, water and summer.
For this week’s theme, we combined two things we LOVE … reading and fruit! One of our favorite authors is Eric Carle. Between school and home, I think I have every single one of his books. We picked a favorite, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, to help us out with our theme. In the beginning of the story, the little caterpillar eats through one apple, two pears, three plums, four strawberries and five oranges. When Brooks was little, he would always pretend to munch through each piece of fruit right along with the caterpillar. So on Thursday, we went out to pick strawberries in Carlsbad to help him with his retelling! It was so much fun. Brooks now wants to be a strawberry picker when he grows up. He thinks he’s really good at finding the best ones. 🙂
This outing was right after a long day at Legoland waterpark so his freckles are extra dark and his hair is extra messy! 🙂
Next up is the talented Jolie Starrett Dallas Senior Photographer.
