How in the world can it be the end of May already? We have started the countdown to summer … 8 more school days. Fortunately these days will be filled with special trips, parties, movie parties, lots of laughs and a few tears. It’s always hard to say goodbye to a class, but this year will be especially hard saying goodbye to Brooks’ first grade year. Having his classroom connected to mine with just a door has been priceless for me. I’m so proud of the little first grader he has been.
Last night, Brooks and I walked down to the creek for our Just Us image for May. We set up the camera on a crate and used the remote to take this. Simple, but sweet.
After we took a few of just us, I handed the camera over to Brooks for him to take a few of me. You see, I promised the lovely ladies in my group that I would share an image of my new haircut.
Earlier this month my dad passed away. With generosity, friendship, and love, my friends in this group got together and paid for my haircut as a surprise to me … just to brighten my day. I was blown away by their thoughtfulness! Thank you!!!
So, here are two new images of me with the new do! I don’t think I’ve ever had my picture taken all by myself (except for the yearly school picture … you know how those always look) and I think Brooks did a great job. He knew just what he needed to do … place the focus point on my eye and shoot. He looked so cute holding the (brand new) mark iii with the huge 85mm lens attached. That’s a heavy combo and he handled it like a pro.
As an update to our organic, natural food lifestyle … we are still just as dedicated and going strong. I was so happy to take our weekly trip to farmer’s market yesterday and see all the organic summer fruit and vegetables available. Delish!!! We also continue to make changes to our home to remove harmful toxins and chemicals. This week I received my first order from Melaleuca. Melaleuca is a company committed to developing products that are free of harmful toxins and chemicals. As an introduction to the company, I ordered the ‘intro pack’. My box was filled with all natural products for cleaning, laundry, and kitchen. It also had health and beauty products that I can’t wait to use. Brooks is already in love with the ‘access bars’ … seriously in love! Please let me know if you want more information about this wonderful company!
