This week’s theme for fifty-two on Friday is broken hearted!
From San Diego to across the United States … 19 other child and family photographers from The Bloom Forum and I have joined together to challenge each other on a theme every week. Each one of us will link to one other photographer’s unique vision. Some of my favorite themes … b&w, simple, shoes, love, fashion, alone, game, eyes, and friendship.
During my 52 week challenge, there are some weeks that really excite me and I have big plans for … this was one of those weeks. Brooks getting sick and too many days of rain this week put a bit of a wrench in my plans so I had to go to plan B. I’m keeping my original plans tucked away for another day.
Broken hearted … that’s what I am. So broken hearted. My baby boy is just about ready to wrap up his amazing kindergarten year. I’m not ready for this huge milestone. I’m not ready for him to be in my grade. I keep telling him that he has to stay in kindergarten … he’s not allowed to grow up so fast. But he does keep growing…. he turned 6 1/2 this month. That’s too old. I’m not ready. It makes me cry just writing about it.
I love him at 6 1/2.
He’s funny … oh so freakin’ funny and he doesn’t even know it.
He’s smart … too smart for his own good.
He’s determined … love the drive he has to do things better.
He’s motivated … wants to be the best at what he does.
He’s kind … always thinking of his friends.
I pulled up images from a day a couple months ago when Brooks took Corduroy on his first train trip to Zoomars Petting Zoo in San Juan Capistrano. We had one of those picture perfect days… I was just the observer … not the director. I just wanted to document.

Please be sure to continue on with my dear friend Sara Tegman – St. Louis, MIssouri Photographer and enjoy the rest of the circle.
