This week’s theme for fifty-two on Friday is alone!
19 other photographers from The Bloom Forum and I have joined together to challenge each other on a theme every week. Each one of us will link to one other photographer’s unique vision. Some of my favorite themes … b&w, simple, shoes, love, and fashion.
Alone … for me, this is such a cherished time. After being surrounded with 6 year olds at school and my own 6 year old at home … I love the solitude when Brooks has gone to bed and I can have my time … alone!
Alone … for Brooks this is also a cherished time. He loves building his incredible battles with the clones and the Jedi against all the bad guys. These battles often last for days. When he’s not on the battlefield, he loves looking at books and doing puzzles. Brooks is also a master of blocks and the coolest towers. He loves his time alone … to play and explore and grow.
This week I knew I wanted to take him to his field, the field he’s been playing at since he learned to walk, for the alone image.
When we are at the field, Brooks becomes one of the greatest Jedi masters. He quickly finds the best sticks and has his great battle on the field (the sound effects are some of my favorite parts). He’s so much fun to watch! On this day, I just watched him do his thing and snapped away (I’ll share more when my computer stops giving me fits). He was so brave as he fought off the fiercest enemies. As we were leaving and nearly to the car, he stopped in this patch of flowers. This captures his tough side (he still has his stick) and his sweet side (as he picks a flower for me) so perfectly.
I love this quiet image. Of him all alone. And he couldn’t be happier.

There is something almost dreamy about the way you captured him (technically) alone but using the power of imagination to change this field into a place of Jedi battle.
