san diego child portraits {elevate} a fine art photography exploration | october 2011

Welcome to the second edition of {elevate} a fine art photography exploration.  If you are here for the first time, you can read how it started right here.

October is one of my favorite months to set up a session with Brooks.  The costumes, the pumpkins, the villains … we love it all!  I was all set to shoot one evening … and it started to rain.  Really, we never have rain in San Diego, but it rained out our session.  I tried once again and Brooks just wasn’t feeling it.  By now I know not to push him,  so today I’m proud to share my favorite session of all time with Brooks.

Last October, the two of us brainstormed tons of ideas for his Mad Hatter session at Bates Nut Farm.  Brooks LOVES the movie, Alice in Wonderland, and was super excited to help plan and do the session.  It was just magical!

We have 15 amazing photographers in our group, so please continue on with the very talented
Kamee June Photography | Orange County CA.

Today is the start of the Bloom Forum’s 1 year birthday celebration!  The forum has been hopping with activity this fall.  There is so much support, inspiration, and friendship blooming,  and also so much excitement over the wonderful instructors we have for the mini workshops…  Deb Schwedhelm, Joyce Smith, Stacey Woods, Angie Warren, Kylie Banks, Andee Tate, and our newest instructor Amanda Holloway.  The mini workshops are the hottest ticket in town.  Amanda’s workshop sold out in less than a minute last Friday.  🙂

If you haven’t had a chance to join the forum, I have two 1 year memberships to give away.

You have three chances to win.  All you need to do is:

1.  leave a comment below with a little blog

2. comment and tell me one way you’ve ‘Bloomed’ this year as a photographer.

3. mention this contest on your FB page and comment to let me know.

(Winner must not currently be a member of The Bloom Forum)

I will leave the contest open until Friday, October 14th at 11:59pm and announce the winner on Saturday morning October 15th.  Good luck!

Head on over to the Everything Bloom Blog to get in on the celebrations!
