Once again … we’re on to week 4 of fifty-two on Friday.
19 other photographers from The Bloom Forum and I have joined together to challenge each other on a theme every week. Each one of us will link to one other photographer’s unique vision. Our first theme was self portrait, the second one was B & W and last week it was joy.
Today our theme is simple. When I think about simple, the first thing that comes to mind is the simple magic of childhood. For Brooks that involves one of his favorite parts of his kindergarten day … the class mascot … Corduroy. It’s amazing how something so simple as this little bear could bring such magic and joy to my child. He truly believes that Corduroy is alive. Thank you sooooo much Mrs. S. for bringing so much happiness to my little kindergartener. (Here is a fun set of Brooks from the morning he met his wonderful K teacher.)
Corduroy comes home with one child each day. When he comes to our house, the first thing we do is go to the store to pick up some of Corduroy’s favorite food … broccoli, green beens, mint ice cream, mint gum … anything we could find that is green and minty. It’s his favorite! After that Brooks plans the whole night of fun … bike rides, story time, games … and then it’s time to dress Corduroy for bed.
Brooks just about passed out when he woke one of the mornings and found that Corduroy had gotten into the mint gum and shared it with all of his other ‘pets’. There were gum wrappers all over the place. 🙂
So remember, when a simple little class mascot comes home with your child, remember it’s not a simple little class mascot. It’s magic! It’s joy! It’s love!
During his recent visit to our house, Brooks asked if we could take Corduroy out to take a few pictures. I love how these turned out. They will be treasured!
Thanks for visiting … up next is Stephanie Moore Memphis TN Photographer.
