san diego child and family photographer | just us twelve times | july 2012

After waiting until the last minute to get this done this month, all I ended up with is one of ‘just me’.  We went over to my sister’s house and found a little nook with gorgeous light, but Brooks decided he didn’t want to be in a picture with me, ever.  I still have 12 more days in the month .. I’ll try to update this with one of the two of us.

Brooks has been having a tough time with his behavior all summer and today was no different.  He’s pushing and pushing and it’s taking everything I’ve got not to just run away some days.  If you have any suggestions or helpful advice on how to get through our summer with a better attitude, I’ll take any advice (or prayers) you have!

Update:  Just a little late, but here is our image with just us!
Every week we are off to Farmer’s market, so I thought it would be a perfect spot to capture our image this month.  Thanks to Brooks’ cousin, Carter, for taking the first two while we were at Farmer’s Market on State St. in Santa Barbara.  We have been nuts over strawberries all spring and summer .. so delicious!

Also, I’m pleased to share that some changes have been made around here and B’s behavior is sooooo much better.  Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes!  🙂

Allison Jacobs - Jules!!! You are so gorgeous–inside & out! I love this photo of you. I can totally relate to the struggle of getting Gavin in the shot too. I am sure you will find the right time & end up with a wonderful image of the two of you. <3

Christina - Awe, Jules :(. I wish I had some advice regarding Brooks. But I’m no perfect mom and struggle with my own two maniac boys. Maybe we can compare notes. Hang in there! Your a good momma!

Ginger - Jules, you look beautiful! Prayers your way 😉 our oldest is 8 and it is such a trying time as they search for their independence and own voice … She’s such an angel and beautiful person yet at home we’ve had to constantly remind her of respect and her tone of voice… Patenting is not easy for sure! We couldn’t do it without Gods guidance!!! Hugs your way!!

Cara - Aw, Jules! It’s such a tough age… My oldest son is 7 and this summer has been a beast. I keep reminding him that his attitude (both the words and the tone of voice) needs to remain sweet. He has spent quite a bit of time in his room because of his attitude – the time away seems to help him realign his attitude. I try not to push him on things that don’t really matter, and I try to give him lots of choices so he is in control as well as opportunities to be helpful. Hang in there! 🙂
