This week’s theme for fifty-two on Friday is game!
19 other photographers from The Bloom Forum and I have joined together to challenge each other on a theme every week. Each one of us will link to one other photographer’s unique vision. Some of my favorite themes … b&w, simple, shoes, love, fashion and alone from last week.
I brought my camera out to Brooks’ first baseball game of the season but none of the images did much for me for this week’s theme. So, I pulled up one of my favorite sessions with Brooks taken down at Petco Park… home of the San Diego Padres. Here’s the whole session from my own little Padre. I had too many favorites from the session so many thanks to Megan for helping me narrow them down.
This game of baseball is so important to me! There’s just something about being at the ballpark and watching the game unfold. With the little guys it’s all about having fun and learning new skills. He didn’t really want to play this season because ‘being in the outfield is so boring’ and ‘it’s too sweaty being the catcher’. After talking to his coach once teams were selected (and his name wasn’t on the list) I told Brooks that he was being recruited to play. Brooks thought that was great and decided to play.
We are soooo lucky to be on a team with wonderful coaches and great families. At each practice, Brooks has 4 coaches out there helping to guide and instruct the team. So we have one more year to try and instill the love of the game to Brooks. Here’s to a great season!
I LOVE this game!
p.s. Brooks was even named after Hall of Fame 3rd baseman, Brooks Robinson of the Baltimore Orioles. :)
